Halloween is a fun filled evening for trick-or-treaters, but to make it an enjoyable fright night, it is important to keep safety in mind! This year, we celebrate Halloween on Tuesday, October 31st. The forecast looks great for Halloween night, sunny during the day with mild temperatures in the evening. The typical start time for trick or treating is at sundown.
Here are some safety tips for kids:
-Make sure costumes are not too long to prevent a fall
-Try to use face paint instead of wearing a mask so your child has better visibility
-Decorate your trick-or-treat bag with reflective tape
-Carry a glow stick
-Bring along a flashlight
-Always go out trick or treating with a parent or an adult
-Be familiar with the homes you visit, and do not go inside a stranger’s house
-Do not eat any opened candy
-Wait until you arrive home before eating any candy so an adult can look it over
-Look both ways when crossing the street, and always hold an adult’s hand
-Be careful of cars driving by
